CAFERULE & Wine Bar Staff Completes AHA CPR Training

HICKORY, N.C. (February 17, 2017 ) – In honor of American Heart Month, the staff at Cafe Rule & Wine Bar today completed Hands-Only CPR Training with the American Heart Association.

“We have hundreds of guests passing through our restaurant every week,” said Meghan Stout, VP of Marketing, Cafe Rule & Wine Bar. “We interact with so many people on a daily basis, so we felt it was important that our entire staff recognize the warning signs of a heart attack and know how to respond.”

In 2008, The American Heart Association updated their CPR protocol to a very simple two-step process:

  1. Call 911
  2. Push hard and fast in the center of the chest

In addition to Hands-Only CPR, trainers reviewed the use of a new automated external defibrillator (AED) recently installed on site.

“Cafe Rule is proud to serve as the local Life is Why Catawba sponsor of the American Heart Association,” said Stout. “We hope to never need these skills, but we feel it is important to be ready.”

Cafe Rule & Wine Bar, located at 242 11th Avenue NE, Hickory, North Carolina, features a selection of great wines from all over the world, both by the glass and the bottle. The extensive menu is full of small bites, creative meals, and selections for vegetarians, as well. The restaurant has a variety of options for seating for intimate dinners and large groups, including private dining rooms.
